Brenda builds a new life in New York, rejecting Grady's redemption bid.

After five years of public tarot humiliations orchestrated by the Cabrera clan, Brenda learns Grady and reader Mallory swapped in counterfeit decks to force every bad draw. The betrayal surfaces hours before their sanctioned engagement party. Instead of confronting them, Brenda boards a flight for a lucrative New York position. At the celebration, best friend Eden screens footage proving the rigged readings, prompting matriarch Elena to denounce the conspirators. Six months later, a successful Brenda owns her home and calmly refuses Grady's plea for reconciliation, closing the door on the past.
