Satan and His Little Believer

Hellhound becomes family; Devil defies Heaven for a child

Six-year-old Poppy survives in a collapsing shack after her parents died saving strangers, enduring daily torment at school. A Christmas Eve spelling error addresses her wish list to the ruler of Hell instead of Saint Nick. Satan responds by sending Cerberus, reduced to a single head with a red bow, to watch over his new little believer. The hellhound, renamed Pippy, speaks to her and chases off a home intruder, giving Poppy her first taste of belonging. When bullies escalate their cruelty, the Devil himself descends as a giant shadow to scatter them, suffering black lightning wounds for breaking infernal law. Poppy senses her unseen protector and sends a whispered recording back with Pippy. Satan, alone in his hall, replays the child's voice until his heart softens. Authorities move to place her in an orphanage, so he appears as Lucifer Morningstar and adopts her. On Christmas Day, she wishes to see her parents once more. Lucifer storms Heaven, scorched by holy light, to retrieve their souls for a final goodbye in her dreams.
