Marcus faces the fallout of his betrayal as Jonathan vows to dismantle his political future.

Deputy Chief Marcus engineers his engagement to Evelyn as a ladder to the mayor's office, counting on her father Jonathan's new Defense Secretary post for crucial leverage. The scheme collapses when Jonathan arrives early to vet his future son-in-law and discovers Marcus in a compromising position with Chloe, Evelyn's closest friend and a fellow officer. A deliberate crash ignites a violent confrontation where Chloe flashes her badge and Marcus assaults Jonathan, neither realizing they have just attacked the Cabinet official whose approval Marcus desperately needs.
