She Became the Dragon’s Bride, He Regretted It

Elara boards the sacrifice boat and leaves with the Dragon King.

In Holomir, tradition demands the groom tow the wedding vessel across the Sacred River or watch his bride vanish into the Dragon Shrine forever. The night before the crossing, Elara Vale sees her fiancé Adrian choose his apprentice Vivienne over her. Adrian fails to appear at the riverbank. Elara declines to plead, travels to the capital, and confirms their betrayal. She then steps onto the sacrifice boat alone, where the Dragon King and her grandmother stand ready to help her begin a new life.
