Duchess leaves, builds a new life, duke remains alone forever.

For seventy years the vampire duke Adrian and his duchess appeared inseparable, celebrated in a documentary as the epitome of immortal love. The same night the film aired, footage leaked of Adrian biting a young human woman in a hotel hallway and telling her he belonged to her until dawn. He dismissed the encounter as a fleeting diversion across eternity, but his wife reminded him of their wedding promise: a single betrayal voids the marriage forever. She served divorce papers, claimed her assets, and walked away without looking back. Decades turned into centuries; she forged a life entirely her own while the undying duke remained trapped in solitude, unable to reclaim the love he discarded.
