Catherine becomes Milo's tutor, uncovers estate conspiracies, and builds trust with Kaelan.

After donating marrow to save her boyfriend Mike, Catherine Bennett endures hormone therapy that drives her weight to 100 kg, only for Mike to betray her once healthy. She ejects him, then discovers a dragon cub named Milo on her porch during a blizzard; the child instantly imprints on her as mother. Milo's father, Kaelan Voss, Chief of the North American Dragon Council, hires her as tutor at his estate. There she helps the withdrawn hatchling recover while navigating a viper's nest of treachery: maid Vera poisons Milo, Uncle Desmond orchestrates assassination and kidnapping plots, and noblewoman Isabella colludes with Desmond to sabotage Catherine's position.
