An Angel Flew Down to Me

Mother flees with divine child as powerful forces kneel and ex-husband's schemes collapse.

Hours after childbirth, the protagonist endures her husband of five years barging in with his late brother's widow and a toddler, while her mother-in-law brands the newborn girl worthless. He declares a polygamous plan to continue the Carter lineage and attempts to smother the infant. Despair flips when the baby projects furious, articulate thoughts exposing the widow's long-term affair and the boy's true paternity by another man. Empowered, the mother chooses divorce. As the enraged ex-husband lifts the child to harm her, a massive military convoy arrives with the President and Grand Oracle, who kneel before the girl as the nation's Angel. The discarded family realizes their fatal error as the mother moves toward the White House to begin systematic payback.
